kinktober + patreon break

Because of my travels and participation in Kinktober this month, there will be no Patreon updates! Lots of backlog to go through, though! This will also be the case for the month of November, by the way, as I will be working on another very special project - but like this, I do have a Patreon-exclusive surprise planned! The secret event reward I've decided to offer for this month alone is that I will take a request per Patron of any tier for a Kinktober prompt. Meaning a request for a particular kink, theme or maybe a character. Think of it sort of like a skeb, I guess. The requests for this will open on the 20th and close on the 25th so keep your eyes peeled for that post if you're interested in getting your finger in that pie.

If you don't want porn, I can doodle you something else instead. Just send me a DM or drop a comment on the announcement when it goes live on the 20th.

life updates

I'M BACK! A bit later than anticipated but I am back! It's been a chaotic time for me since my last update but we are FIGURING it out! For the sake of trying to like, blog more - I'm going to be talking just a bit about the time I spent away now just to keep everyone who'd like to know in the loop! If you'd rather move on, then skip on over to the next section.

First off, my partner and I found and were approved for an apartment! We really super like this place too! It was the spot we had our hearts set on the whole search. We have actually picked up the keys yesterday. It's very cute and I might share pictures of it once we've gussied it up a bit. It's a super big deal and a big step for us and obviously has also been kind of stressful and a whole thing but it's all worked out and sorted so now all that's left is to like - move in, I guess! There are a lot of kinks to work out because I will be splitting my time between here and my girlfriend's place which is definitely a lot but the complications of being poly and such. Either way, now that I'm not totally broke, it will be awesome to actually help and contribute to my loved ones. Right, speaking of ...

I was approved for disability benefits. For the next year and a half, I will be getting financial support and most importantly, health insurance so I will finally be able to see actual doctors and hopefully get some very much needed medical support. This was an almost three year process for me and I have nothing but love and appreciation to everyone and anyone who helped my through my journey. It was a stress I wouldn't wish upon anyone but I'm so happy to say that at the very least, holding out was worth it. I'm gonna be real, my mind is still in fight-or-flight more and I haven't yet fully processed it but it is what it is!

A lot of my month was spent scrambling to get all my affairs in order for this approval and my first pay-out. Worth it, of course. Worth it. I really don't want to complain but I'm just glad that that part of it is over - even if it's just for a little bit.

That's all I got for now! I guess, I've been replaying Disco Elysium again but anyone who has paid a visit to my Bluesky could guess that.

upcoming events

As mentioned in the previous section as well as my last blog post, I do have some events coming up soon! All of November will be spent essentially prepping for them to then later take place in December which is why there won't be updates in November but there still will be in December!

One of these events will be a Secret Santa event in my art discord! The announcement taking an official head count for this event will be going up on October 20th in the server and all members will have until October 31st to join. On November 1st, I will be assigning everyone their targets and then they will have until December 23rd to work on their gift for the other person. Gifts are not exclusive to digital art and can extend to other mediums as well! If you would like to join the server and get in on the event, feel free to shoot me a DM at my Bluesky.

The second event is The Nicos! For the longest time, I've been meaning to just do a stupid awards show adjacent event for friends and whoever else is interested in checking it out about the media I watched this year. I want to talk about movies, books, video games, etc! To talk about my favorite stuff from this year and hand out arbitrary and meaningless awards for them all. I tried to do this last year but it sort of fell apart due to time constraints. I'm not going to give much away about it right now since I'll be talking about it more at length in next month's blog post update! But it's going to be fun and unserious and I recommend checking in with it if you're interested in this sorta thing. Gonna be working on it through all of November so hopefully it all comes together nice and tidy.

tapas and blampow

I don't think it's a secret at this point but for those of you who don't already know, Tapas is shutting down. They made their end of service announcement a couple of weeks ago, which you can read here. Tapas is the second-ever website I hosted comics on so it feels very weird for this to be happening. Just like this thing that was always there for so long being suddenly on it's last few months of life before going away forever. However, it honestly does not come as a surprise to me. I don't think many of us are surprised by this tbh. Tapas has been steadily on the decline for years. It's acquiescence to app store censorship, its clear and outright favoritism and disdain for smaller creators, and its incessant notification spamming and negging to get people to read things they have never and will never want to read - it was all very obvious to people who used the site regularly enough. It's much of the way Webtoon is going as well, except Webtoon has a bigger money pool to leech off of as they continue to remain unprofitable and miserable.

That being said, it is the website I had the highest number of subscribers on so bummer about that. I will be making a post on there soon discussing the closure of Tapas and where else people can subscribe to me. Thankfully, I am a massive cross-poster so I'm on pretty much every and any free comic hosting website. Any readers transferring out can find me almost everywhere else. Everywhere except Webtoon and Globalcomix for personal ethical reasons, some of which I've discussed in my last blog post.

A website I am in the process of setting up on is Blampow! I have my profile set up but I haven't gotten my comics up quite yet. I am hoping to start this month. If you're interested in just keeping an eye to subscribe once I do, feel free to check in on my profile here. But I will be posting about it on Bluesky as well as giving everyone an update on here once everything's live on my next blog post anyway so no biggie whatever you do!

Another website I have heard of but have not yet been able to really look into is Lemoon. I'll likely update next month with my findings on it once I've had more time to do more research and the like.

This all reminds me that I have been working on a graphic that breaks down pretty much all the comic hosting websites I have been a part of, comparing them all - pros and cons and such. Ideally, it will be ready early next year but ya know how it is.

2o26 bingo

At the start of this year, I made a bingo chart for the things I wanted to accomplish. I haven't been doing a magnificent job of keeping up but I have been doing a tolerable job so that's ... good. Here's my progress so far!

I'm posting about it here in hopes that it will make me more accountable for the remaining 76 days of the year. I promised myself I'd get myself a treat if I got a bingo. You'd think I'd be more coordinated about this but this year has just kind of been something that happened to me. Just gotta try to lock in ...
