TAORA explores a rich world of clashing magic, agendas and ideologies. Its high contrast black, white and red art makes for striking compositions. Intimacy, violence, grief and fear are expressed with an incredible artistic hand. The heavy subject matter is handled with absolute sensititivity and sincerity, while the story remains full of humour and thrills. The large cast is wonderful, with designs expressive of their history culture and personalities. And damn, what personalities. It's got it all: a bloodthirsty lesbian pirate polycule, a cryptic all powerful impish psychic, a hilariously sincere and good natured prince trying to fix the broken world through autistic swagger alone and a centipede freak crawling on the walls. What a great series!
